The New Bar is a West Coast nonalcoholic bottle shop with sleek outposts in West Hollywood, Venice, and San Francisco. Founded by Brianda Gonzalez, the shop is as much about culture as it is about cocktails—with a clear-eyed mission behind it to be more purposeful with what we consume.
On the pod, Gonzalez shares how stepping away from alcohol became a deeply personal decision, inspired by her father, a longtime bartender who developed an autoimmune disease. Now, she moves through life with a sense of purpose and intentionality, building a business that’s redefining what the next generation drinks—and why.

Fizzy or still?
Fizzy.
Aperitif or Adaptogen?
I'm a big aperitif girl, so I have to go aperitif.
Citrus or floral?
Floral. I love things that taste like perfume.
Spicy or bitter?
You're making these tough. Bitter. I love bitter.
NA wine or NA spirits?
I love mixology, and it's so fun to play with spirits. I come alive when I get some spirits in hand.
Glassware or Out of the can?
For sure glassware, every single time. It’s all about the experience. Every detail counts.
Hosting at home or night out?
I host a lot of dinner parties in my backyard and holiday things — so definitely hosting at home.
Playlist or podcast?
Driving around, playlist. But in the morning, I have a newsletter and podcast ritual — getting ready, doing my hair, showering to a podcast. Once I get in the car, though, we switch over to playlist.
